Equipment: Kettlebell, pullup bar, figure 8 resistance tubing
Warmup: 3 rounds of : Easy jog 2 minutes, 5 pushups
Workout: 1 round of:
- Kettlebell snatch X 5-10 reps
- Pullup X 5-10 reps
- Kettlebell overhead press X 5-10 reps
- Kettlebell row X 5 X 10 reps
- Figure 8 band pushups X 5-25 reps
- Victorian hold X 5 five second holds
- Hindu pushup X 5-20 reps
- Figure 8 band curls X 5-15 reps
- Figure 8 band lateral raises X 5-15 reps per side
- Figure 8 band row X 5-15 reps
- Kettlebell swings X 10-20 reps
- Goblet squats X 10-20 reps
- Kettlebell switch hand swing X 10-15 reps
- single leg squats X 5-10 reps
- Plank with leg lift X 5-15 reps
- Walking lunges X 5-15 per side
- Reverse plank with leg lift X 5-15 reps
- Squat jumps X 10-20 reps
- Bar hang to failure
- Flutter kicks to failure
- 50 yard sprint
Notes: This is just one big circuit. Move at a good pace but not as fast as you can. Again, just keep your heart rate elevated.
Progression: Progress by increasing resistance or reps.
Emphasis: On days that you don’t feel like getting it done, a single set of each exercise, in a giant round of exercises, can make the workout more tolerable. This workout offers a wide variety of movements and works the body through a wide range of movements. This is the opposite of a specialist program. I like to incorporate a really wide range of movements once per week. The “kitchen sink” workouts are a good choice for this.
